about

Composed and realized in 1999, as part of a proposed dance project. We (the dancer and I) planned out a 'kinetic trajectory' of the work's energy levels, then broke this plan into slices. I then composed music for slices 1, 3, 5, etc., and the dancer composed dance for the even numbered slices. Then we planned to switch and fill out the form. Execution of the plan did not quite work out, because she worked much faster than I did. She soon left NYC and we lost touch, but I completed the piece.

It's partly an homage to some things from my childhood, shared with my bro', with references including the title, quotations from superhero and other badly scratched-up LP records, hidden references to classic rock songs, and so forth.
